Dialectics of Collective & Individual Autonomy

Dialectically individual autonomy is internally related to collective autonomy and the compromise of one damages the other. Collective autonomy turns nonexistent without individual autonomy and vice versa. Individual autonomy constitutes collective autonomy as collective autonomy constitutes individual autonomy. Without individual autonomy, collective autonomy turns into tyranny of the majority just as individual autonomy loses its identification without collective autonomy.

Multicultural Pluralism: The greater the participation of multicultural subjects in each council greater the chances to avoid the pitfall of a parochialistic mindset.
Individual Autonomy: The compromised autonomy of individuals under collective autonomy turns into the tyranny of the majority just as the compromise of collective autonomy through individual autonomy turns into an incohesive and undemocratic society. All decisions related to an individual’s personal life (which affect only the person making them in materialist terms), that is, dress, religion, ideology, disagreement, accumulation of personal wealth, free association etc. constitute individual autonomy. An individual’s action turns coercive instead of autonomous when it damages the autonomy of another individual or group. It can be settled through restorative justice or peer pressure. In matters related to personal decisions and individual autonomy peer pressure crosses its limits when it attacks individual autonomy therefore collective advising and suggesting are rationally sharable only when requested by the individual or when an individual’s action has crossed the limits of the individual autonomy.
Final Right to Say: In only the decisions that target a particular religion, race, language etc., the last say must always be of the targetted community. So, the outnumbered groups should be unable to dominate smaller groups based on race, language, religion etc.
Collective Autonomy: Collective autonomy can lead to a cohesive democratic society when it holds the autonomy of individuals as uncompromisable. Only through free association and consensus-based decision making policies and decisions are proposable in councils. Peer pressure and social conditioning function to structure behaviours only when collective or individual autonomy is compromised. Such matters can be resolved through a peace committee and restorative justice.
Direct Democracy: Individual autonomy and collective autonomy are internally related to direct democracy in form of small councils. In representative democracy decisions are imposed upon the people without including them in decision making processes. Without direct democracy and consensus-based decision making process in bottom-to-top structured councils, collective autonomy turns into collective tyranny.
